Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has decided to remove Punjab Governor Latif Khosa from his post, Aaj News reported on Thursday. According to the channel, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional's (PML-F) parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood is likely to replace Khosa, as governor Punjab.

The move comes after a meeting between Ahmed Mehmood and President and PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari. Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and his son Ali Musa Gilani also attended the meeting. Mehmood is a member of the Punjab Assembly from PP-292, Rahim Yar Khan.
